Book Fair!! 📚😀📚
September 18th - 22nd
{will be open during Parent/Teacher conferences}

This week we are studying about Family. Today we dictated sentences about what work our parents do and then read the sentences in literacy. In math we worked together and decided which were long or short. Other things were in drama pretending to do family chores and drawing pictures of our family

We played a listening game called Little Listening Mouse and built Baby Bear a chair that was just right!

This week in pre-k we have started talking about families. We have been learning that there are many different kinds and sizes of families and that families take care for each other. We learned we have a home family and a school family. In our learning centers we made thank you cards for our families and we've sorted letters based on curvy lines or straight. In small group we've played a listening game and in math small group we compared sizes and learned we can not tell if something is big or small until we compare it to another item.

This week we are learning about "Families", our toddlers enjoyed a family style picnic with cupcakes outside. We also drew pictures of our families that will be posted in our hallways.

Today we remember 9/11/2001.

Great fun at the FFA kickoff party!

Congratulations on TES August Students of the Month and Mr. Jonathan Piker on Employee of the month!

Over the last 2 weeks, Mrs. Rowlett's 3rd Grade Science Class has observed, classified and evaluated the traits and life cycles of different plants. We've learned about the journey of a rice seed and used sandpaper to demonstrate what happens to it once it is delivered to the mill. We ended our unit with why/how plants grow flowers and make fruit and classified science vegetables and science fruits by observing their seeds. This was such a fun unit!

Today we talked about open and closed shapes. We used stencils to trace the shapes and since we are finishing up this weeks theme of emotions, the kids created art that makes them happy! They also explored different items in water play today!

This week the Swifton toddlers have been learning about their legs, feet, and toes. On Tuesday they painted using their feet. They had a lot of messy fun!

Today in Frogstreet in our Makerspace center we used a variety of materials to make a "happy something ". In our math center we identified straight and curved.
