This week in pre-K we have been learning about insects that fly in judging bees, mosquitoes, flies, butterflies, ladybugs, and dragonflies. We are also learning how these critters fly, which ones are pests, and which ones creates a sweet treat. We have also been learning about metamorphosis of the butterfly and watching our butterflies transform in the classroom. We learned a new vocabulary term this week: proboscis meaning a long thin tube that is part of the mouth of some insects. In math we have been joining parts to make a whole and finding parts within a whole. In literacy we have been blending spoken phonemes (one syllable word with picture support) We also played a fun activity today with our read aloud called flies and frogs. 🐸
