This week in pre-K our children are learning about family members beyond their immediate family. This includes aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. They are discovering how these extended family members fit into their family as well as now these relatives love them and help them when needed. We have been enjoying our listening center time. We also practiced what we would pack in a lunch if we were traveling to visit relatives. They enjoyed making sandwiches and packing them in containers to go. In our math small group today we are comparing quantities. We are learning to identify quantities up to 5 without counting and use mathematical strategies to solve problems. We also made a T- chart to allow each child to share what name they use for their grandparents. This week they were able to meet Frog-E who is Fanny the Frogs cousin. Frog-E is a programmable robot that will be used in our STEAM lessons.

Our toddlers are learning what it's like to be a family and all the different people that can make up a family. Today in our lesson we talked about "Grandpa's garden", we were lucky enough to have one of our own grandparents come teach us how to plant a garden.

This week we are learning about our family! We used clay to make a person in our family. We read the book, "Our Class is a Family" we discussed how we are a family at school also just like they have one at home. We also learned about small, medium, large. We used cups to show the difference and then we sorted our frogs according to the correct size. We also found things in the room and sorted them into small, medium and large.
