The Jackson County School District is aware of the rumors circulating in the community. We have investigated the situation and have found no reason for immediate concern. JCSD takes the security of your children serious and will have extra security at the schools today as a precautionary measure.
THS Esports kicked off Fall season play with week 1 of pre season. THS won 3-0 against Newport. Team members are: Jax Welsh, Ryan Keller & Adrian Johnson.

The Bulldog golf teams went to Eagle Mountain in Batesville. The girls played 9 holes while the boys played 18 holes. Taryn Sink carded a 38 to earn medalist for the girls and lead us to the team victory. On the boys side, there were three that had a round under 100. Andrew Nichols had an 84, Jordan Watson an 89, and Amare Neal had a 97. Taryn Sink and Jordan Watson both had an eagle on hole 18.
Tomorrow ‘s match at Village Creek has been cancelled due to the forecast for heavy rain. We will play our last regular season matches next Tuesday at Newport Country Club and Wednesday at Cooper’s Hawk in Melbourne. Our conference tournament will be Monday, September 23 at Turkey Mountain Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend. Go Bulldogs!

The Bulldog golf teams hosted a 9 hole match against Hillcrest, CRA, Des Arc, Carlisle, and Gosnell on Tuesday. For the boys, Jordan Watson was co-medalist with a 39. The girls team was led by Taryn Sink, who also shot a 39 and was the medalist for the girls. Emily Gates also shot her best round of the year. The girls finished in 2nd place behind a very good Gosnell team.
The Elementary Book Fair will be September 16- September 20th. It will also be open the night of Parent/Teacher conferences!
The THS Bulldog Band performed with over 450 other high school band students as well as the ASTATE Band during half time at the Red Wolves football game today! They sounded AMAZING!! #yayband
Last week, 7th grade science classes collected evidence to support the claim they made about where gas comes from when bath bombs are submerged in water. This week, we are exploring the ingredients that make up the bath bomb, so we can determine what combinations will lead to a gas being produced.

The Bulldog golf teams played 9 holes Thursday afternoon at Newport Country Club. For the boys, Jordan Watson had the best round for us and was 4th overall. Taryn Sink had a 39 for our girls, which was good for second. The girls finished second place behind Gosnell and the boys team finished in 3rd place.
This week in preschool, we have been learning about our 5 senses. This lesson is always fun! Today, our activity was about taste. We tasted sweet, salty, sour, and spicy (of course, not too spicy and only if they wanted to try it). The kids always have fun with this activity, and so do we 😁

The Bulldog Golf teams went to Coopers Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne yesterday for an 18 hole match against Melbourne, Mountain Home, Yellville-Summitt, and Greers Ferry West Side. Jordan Watson had the best round for our boys, by carding a 98. Taryn. Sink led the way for our girls with a score of 84, which was two strokes better than her state championship round on the course last fall. We return to action on Thursday when we go to Newport Country Club for a 9 hole match.
Today we explored attributes. We drew one out of the box, then figured out which category it matched!
The cross country team had their season opener yesterday in Jonesboro at the CBC Invitational. Avery Brunner won the junior boys race, and set a new school record of 8:40.46, breaking Zeke Church’s previous record of 8:45.38. Macy Bowen led the junior girls in 24th place for the bulldogs with a time of 12:00. In the sr high 5K, Bronx Holland led the pack of bulldogs with a time of 21:36, and Emeri Baughn and August Huckabee paced the sr girls with times of 27:42 and 27:49, respectively. The team will travel to Sulfur Rock next week for the Batesville Invitational.
