2nd graders participated in a STEAM project where they had to create a structure that could withstand an earthquake simulator.











Over the Thanksgiving Break, Elektra Loven became the winner of the Foundations of the Art Show in Jonesboro. She is the first winner from THS and was given a $50 Hobby Lobby girt card and certificate! Congratulations Elektra!!


This week our vocabulary words are Make Believe and Fairy Tales. Today they enjoyed making monsters and describing them. Some made towers for Rapunzel. We even acted out Gruffalo

The Jackson County School District Special Education Department will hold a meeting to provide information and answer any questions of parents of students who are currently homeschooling on Thursday, November 30, from 5:00-6:00p.m., in the district administration office, located at 300 N. Dowell Ave., in Tuckerman. The meeting is for parents of students that reside in the Jackson County School District and are currently enrolled in homeschool programming and has had an IEP while in the public school setting. This week in pre-K we have been exploring the differences in real and make-believe. We have learned about the inspiration of our imaginations and dreams. We have been reading fairy tales and differentiating between make-believe and real life. In math this week we have been exploring measuring. We have been learning about attributes to be measured: length, width, height and determining which would be the best measuring tool. We are also learning to measure with accuracy and how to start at the baseline.

2 of our THS Esports SMASH Bros. Teams will be playing in Round 1 of the Fall Playoff Tournament this afternoon! Funky Town is ranked 20 out of 170 teams; Fruits Basket is ranked 41 out of 170 teams in the state. Members include: Jaxson Welsh, Christopher Chatman, Pete Vankirk, Kailyn Arter, Elektra Loven & Nicholas Brooks. Let's congratulate these students on advancing!!



The Trap Team shot at the annual State FFA trap shoot Friday! Jackson county finished 10th in state led by Eli Smiltnieks. He finished 49/50 targets hit, and won Eastern district high Individual and placed 5th overall in the state out of 409 registered shooters!

THS held their 2nd Annual Career Fair on Thursday, Nov 16, open for students in grades 10-12. Over 80 students attended the fair today to visit with many local businesses about job opportunities & educational requirements. Thank you to Southwest Steel, MP Bank, Unity Health, AR Center for Independence, ASUN, Walmart, White River Health Systems, Arkansas Department of Corrections, Jackson County Clerk's office, & the Secretary of State's office for coming out to visit with our students! Mr Michael Smith, Counselor, drew winning names for gift cards. Winners: Emma Coe, Cole Bennett, Kadin Adams, Tyler Williams, Emily Swan, & Emily Gates.
