This week in pre-K we have been talking about tools and how they help us with our creativity, fun and play We are still focusing on alliteration and end punctuation. We have talked about wheels and axles, levers, and inclined planes. In math we have been measuring objects with nonstandard units such as cubes, paper clips, and cotton balls to determine the distance between two points.

JCSD Calendar Update Due to being out of school on January 10th(snow), the JCSD will be in school on February 24th(was originally scheduled a winter holiday). JCSD will be out of school on January 20th to celebrate MLK Jr. Day.

2nd grade students participated in a science experiment to see if wind is a factor in dispersing seeds. They used a fan to simulate “wind” and made different types of seeds to try.

This week in Preschool we are leaning about: Tools. We discussed different tools that are used to build, fix things and that we even use in our classroom! We also got to enjoy some leftover snow!!

Both jr girls and sr girls pick up road wins at CRA. Jr high wins 37-6 while sr high wins 58-33.

Last week in pre-K we talked about construction. We built structures using art materials. We learned about alliteration being the repetition of the beginning sound in two or more neighboring words. In math we learned about four sided shapes and discussed how we would tell if they were parallel or not parallel.

Shooter Bowen, Alexus Mitchell, and Tate Branch are winners in the Story Store Competition. Their stories were chosen to be incorporated in a play at William's Baptist University. Congratulations!

Mrs Robin & Mrs Marie's toddler class enjoyed exploring the snow that was on our playground. It was "cold" and "crunchy".
